Freemasons Make Donation to Victoria Hall, Oakham

A society has made a donation towards the upkeep of a struggling historic hall. The Old Oakhamian Freemason’s School Lodge has given £500 to Victoria Hall in High Street, Oakham to help with running costs. The Lodge said it recognises the importance of the hall as a centre for charity events in town. Plenty of people turned out for a Christmas craft market at Stamford Arts Centre. The market ran between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, December 14, and featured a variety of homemade gifts and crafts. Fix First Win: First Bus Bring Back Free Zones Between University Campuses

On 25 January, YUSU Wellbeing Officer Hannah Nimmo announced on Instagram that her ‘Fix First’ campaign had won. As of 5 February, the free zone of the 66 and 67 First Bus services will be restored, as well as a reduced single fare buffer zone.

YUSU President Pierrick Rogers and Wellbeing Officer Hannah Nimmo have campaigned for £1 million from the University of York to support students during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
